How to register: login to the app, look over the scheduled talks and then choose "add to my sched" for the workshops you plan to attend. Registered attendees will have priority seating at workshops.

Workshops are being held at the Radisson Blu in the second floor ballrooms on Monday from 9:30-4:30. The Expo is in the Parkview Event Space off Nick Universe on the east side, just past the Hard Rock Cafe; it is open Monday 12-8 and Tuesday 9-3. The expo hall is where some group meet-ups and talks will be happening on Monday night after 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 9-3. Various other events are happening at Mall of America stores; be sure to check the location when you sign up.

Play and MakeCode with Minecraft 2 hour workshop ages 8-12
In this free two-hour coding workshop, students ages 8–12 will play in Minecraft while they learn how to code with Microsoft’s MakeCode platform. They will program an Agent robot to complete challenges and even change the weather, or as they say in the world of Minecraft: they will make it rain Ocelots and Wolves!
By the end of this Workshop, participants will have:
  • Increased confidence in their technical and coding skills
  • Improved their computational and creative thinking
  • Read and understand code in the MakeCode environment
  • Programmed code in Minecraft to change the weather and control an agent

This camp lasts two hours. The parent, legal guardian, or authorized adult caregiver of every Camp participant under 17 years of age must sign a Participation Agreement upon arrival and remain in Microsoft Store for the duration of the event. No experience with MakeCode or Minecraft is required.
